We are looking for HR Advisor to join us on a part time (3 days per week) fixed-term (5 months) basis. In this role you will become the central contact for an assigned client group of employees and managers that are employed in the Cambridge site.Come and join our dynamic European HR Operations team to support the continuous development of our UK HR service offering while also being offered opportunities to learn about HR practices in our other European markets.

Your Responsibilities

As HR Operations Specialist you will be looking after the following activities:

  • Provision of operational HR support to employees and managers in the Cambridge office across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent interpretation and application of existing employment policies and practices

  • Creation of employment contracts, contract amendments and respective employment documentation

  • Administrative handling of all operational A-Z HR events (incl. hiring, internal transfers, promotions, contract changes and compensation adjustments as well as employee exit)

  • Active maintenance of employee master data and movement data in MyWorkday as central HRIS

  • Set-up and maintenance of physical and digital employee files in line with data protection requirements; response to ad-hoc employee record requests

  • First point of contact for operational employee and manager inquiries, answering and resolving such requests by phone and via the central HR Service email box

  • Continuous update of employee SharePoint portal for the Cambridge site

  • Active follow-up on the delivery against existing HR processes (e.g. Onboarding, training plans etc.) and set-up as well as regular update of our HR Process descriptions and SOPs

  • Act as back-up for other HR Operations colleagues and their respective client groups

  • Support continuous HR process improvements to increase effectiveness, efficiency and digitization; active identification of improvement areas and pro-active suggestion of potential adaptions

  • Performance of regular HR data audits & provision of standard HR reporting to assigned manager client group as well as internal HR colleagues

  • Actively involved in setting up benefit systems and liaising with benefit providers

  • Processing HR-related invoices and first point of contact for providers & vendors

  • Communications on HR issues and employee engagement initiatives, maintaining distribution lists

  • Health and Safety: arranging for occupational health referrals and arranging for the working place adjustments as necessary

  • Creating policies and maintaining handbooks and policy materials

  • Support in submitting overtime timesheets for agency staff

  • Support HRBP in processing claims for income protection and death-in-service scheme

Who we are looking for:

As an HR Advisor you are striving for the delivery of an outstanding service to our employees and managers, you are closing administrative matters in a timely manner and with a high focus on quality and you are bringing along first practical experience in supporting HR Operations for the Cambridge office.

What you will bring:

  • A strong client orientation and are enjoying an active communication with employees, suppliers and authorities

  • Good working knowledge of British employment and social security law

  • Well-versed in the use of MS Office products and a demonstrated high aptitude for learning new HR systems, processes and policies with a self-driven passion for continuous learning and development

  • Well-versed in the use of common global HR information systems (experience in Workday beneficial)

  • Understanding data protection legislation and its impact on HR Operations

  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally, is a requirement.

  • Effective at working both independently and as part of a collaborative team with a diverse set of expertise and interests

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle situations with appropriate care and compassion, and provide accurate and valuable solutions with an eye for details
