Research Associate I

Job Summary

This position is responsible for purifying recombinant proteins for antigens and collaborating with other teams to ensure that work aligns with the overall project goals. The role will involve purifying antigens with an affinity tag and using various preparative chromatography methods according to standard operating procedures. Duties will include preparing buffer solutions and cell culture media, as well as culturing and harvesting mammalian cells and E. coli as needed. • Follow SOPs and WIs meticulously to execute and document tasks accurately
• Prepare various buffers and culture media for experiments
• Culture and harvest mammalian cells and E coli
• Protein purification by diverse chromatographic techniques
• Analyze proteins with SDS Page and UV-Vis Spectrometer
• Present and prepare experimental results by following Good Document Practices
• Manage lab supplies and chemicals in times of needs
• Assist and train other associates in times of needs
• Maintain and monitor laboratory equipment
• Other projects or responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Life Science, Biotech, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized and work well in small work groups
• Able to perform basic computer operations such as MS Office and Outlook and other based software

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

• Aseptic techniques for maintenance of suspension mammalian cell lines culture
• Good analytical and communication skills
• Extensive experience in both protein and antibody purification
• Experienced in purification and formulation of recombinant protein or antibody

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Lab

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
