Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing hybridoma and antibody production in the New Clone Team (NCT) of Content Development. He/She will be involved in maintenance, expansion, examination, and storage of hybridoma clones and generation of monoclonal antibodies.

The duties include preparing culture and freezing related media and buffer, performing hybridoma and mammalian cell line cultures, purifying antibodies according to standard operating procedures, and performing Ab quality check by SDS and IEF.  Other job responsibilities include maintaining a clear notebook, log documents and records on FileMaker database, and performing calculations and manage the assigned function and tasks promptly with independence after appropriate training. 

In addition, this position also will communicate with the content culture team and screening team to ensure correct decision making by providing sufficient information.

Essential Functions

  • Under guidance of senior personnel, prepare hybridoma culture-related material and antibody purification-related buffer
  • Hybridoma cell culture maintenance and expansion
  • Characterize antibody level in hybridoma culture supernatant by Octet in accordance with SOP
  • Characterize monoclonal clonal antibodies isotype and mycoplasma contamination by ELISA and commercial kit/PCR, respectively
  • Characterize monoclonal clonal antibodies purity by SDS and IEF electroporation system
  • Analyze and summarize data with high attention to detail in accordance with SOPs
  • Complete all documentation, including project conceptual design, batch records, experimental data, Clarity and FileMaker
  • Lab database organization and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other product development Research Associates and Scientists to provide project updates, to establish project timelines and to assist completion of product development documentation
  • Other projects or responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree with a course works in cell biology or relate field.

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Mammalian cell culture and cell line maintenance;
  • Basic knowledge of immunology including but not limited to antibody and antigen interaction is a plus;
  • Basic knowledge of protein purification is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
